New Goals. Same House., House of Hybrid

Edition 02

New Goals. Same House.

House of Hybrid

A race to work towards. A trail to explore with your mates. A new season on the horizon. There are plenty of reasons to train, and a few more taking shape at the House this month.

Official: we’re a HYROX Training Club

House of Hybrid is now an official HYROX TRAINING CLUB, right here in Lobethal.

If HYROX is new to you, think running mixed with functional workout stations. It asks you to build strength and an engine, then use both together. That combination is already at the heart of how we train.

You don’t need a race entry to get involved. If you do have a race in mind, tell Kurt your goal and division so you can work out your preparation. Our HYROX page shows the equipment available at the House and where you’ll need extra practice, including sled work.

House Mates, out on the trails

Eight of our House Mates recently headed to Monarto Zoo for a trail run.

Left to right: Caitlin, Audrey, Lydia, Charlene, Annette, Julianna, Amelia and Pam.

That’s a pretty good reason to train: being able to say yes when someone suggests getting outside and doing something different. A race result is one way to measure progress. Having the confidence to give something a go is another.

If you’ve been looking for a reason to get moving, it doesn’t have to start with a big event. A walk, a local trail or a first coached session is a start worth making.

Introducing Performance Partners

We’re piloting Performance Partners with Torrens Valley Football Club and Nairne Bremer United Football Club, helping their players prepare for the season ahead.

The initial programme is for players aged 16 and over at these two partner clubs. Places are not currently open to athletes outside the partner clubs.

It starts with complimentary athletic profiling to assess readiness and capacity. Players who choose to continue can move into an eight-week hybrid personal training programme, delivered through TeamBuildr with weekly or fortnightly face-to-face sessions at House of Hybrid and Nairne Oval. Retesting at the end helps guide the next block of training.

If you play for either partner club, speak with Kurt about the next steps and how training fits around your club commitments.

Pink Day: Saturday 10 October, 7:15am

The House turns pink again on Saturday 10 October, raising money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Last year, a $200 target became $830. We’d love to beat that with the Hills behind us again.

The session is open to everyone, including people who have never trained here. Come along in pink, bring your people and contribute what you can. You don’t need to do the whole session to be part of it.

Find us at 47a Main Street, Lobethal. The session runs from 7:15 to 8:15am.

One more date for the calendar

Haunted House: Friday 30 October, 7pm. Our first Halloween session. Costumes, a dressed-up gym and a reason to bring the mate who keeps saying they’ll try a session one day. Open to members and non-members.
